What is therapy?
Psychotherapy is one way to help you manage the things that are making you feel stuck. There are various philosophies and approaches, but generally the idea is that you're given a space to talk about and explore what's going on without fear of judgment.
Therapy can be hard work, but it's through that work that real change is made. I will challenge you to stay engaged even if it's hard, and help you find the best ways to meet your goals.
What can I expect from sessions?
I typically use a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to treat clients. Very generally, that means looking at the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to see where changes can be made. Depending on your personality and goals, we'll find the best approach for your situation.
Generally sessions last an hour and are scheduled weekly.
Fees and Cancellation
For clients based in the US, each session is $195. I am not able to accept insurance at this time, but many insurers offer reimbursement for clients seeing out-of-network therapists. I’m happy to talk with you about this option and provide documentation needed by your insurer. I also offer low-cost services to clients in need; contact me to see if there are low-cost slots available. Fees are to be paid at the time of the session.
If you are in the UK, please contact me for pricing information and payment options.
If cancellations are made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment, a fee is charged.
Online therapy
At the moment most sessions are conducted via secure video. Clients can log into their sessions from home in California, New York, or the UK. If you’re in London and would prefer to be seen in person, please contact me.
Fees are the same as listed above.
